Newark Rotary Club Scholarship Program ($6000 each)

The Newark Rotary Club is looking for applications from Newark area high school students who are starting their college careers.

Students at the following schools are eligible to apply. Applications are to be received by March 31, 2025. The scholarship committee will do a blind-read to determine scholarship awards.

  • Newark High School
  • Glasgow High School
  • Christiana High School
  • Newark Charter School
  • Delaware School for the Deaf
  • Hodgson (Paul M) Vocational Tech HS
  • St. Marks High 
  • John Dickinson School
  • McKean High School

The Newark Rotary Club is prepared to award several Newark area high school seniors $6000 scholarships to be applied to either Freshman Year of their 4-year or 2-year college careers. 

Students are judged on:

  • Exceptional character
  • Academic achievement
  • Community and school service
  • A written essay

Stipulations:

  • Applicant candidates must be American citizens.
  • Applicant candidates cannot be related to any member of the Newark Rotary club. 
  • Students awarded the scholarship will be expected to give remarks about themselves and speak of college expectations at the award ceremony. 
  • Students awarded the scholarship will be required to give an update on academic and service progress at the end of the first semester. 
  • Students awarded the scholarship will be required to maintain full-time academic status in good standing.
